Ingredients
STEP 1: How to make the Dal
- ( Red Lentils 2 cups) Red masoor dal
- (Yellow Lentils 1/4 cup Mung Dal
- 1/4 cup Toor Dal
- 1 tsp Oil
- 1/2 tsp Red chili powder
- 1/2 tsp Turmeric powder
- 1 tsp Shah Jeera (Black Cummins)
- to taste Salt
- 1 tsp Whole spices
- 1 tsp Garlic (crushed)
- Bottle gourd ( Lauki) 1 large cut into small pcs.
STEP 2 : How to cook the meat
- 1/2 kg Mutton
- 2 Onion (sliced)
- 1 tbsp Ginger/garlic paste
- 1 tsp Jeera powder ( cumin powder)
- to taste Salt
- 2 tsp Red chili powder
- 1/2 tsp Turmeric powder
- 1 tsp Whole spices
- Lemon sliced for garnishing
- Coriander leave for garnishing
- Mint leave for garnishing
- 1 cup Water
- 2 tbsp Oil
STEP 3: Ingredients of baghar(tarka)
- 1 tbsp Ghee
- 1 tsp Cumin seeds
- 1 tsp Garlic (crushed)
- 1/2 tsp Ajwain ( carom seed)
Directions
The dal gosht is so tasty that it goes well with rice or rotis. This recipe is made using wonderful ingredients like onions and bottle gourd and I assure the taste is amazing.There are many recipes which can be made with dal but if used along with meat it really makes a delicious recipe. I would like my readers to try this recipe as it is a very popular dish in India.I would love to hear the feedback for my dal gosht recipe which is a do try dish. I try various recipes with meat/mutton and I am going to share every recipe I make on this blog.
Now I will show a step by step complete procedure for making a Dal Gosht which will get ready within 45 min.
Steps
1 Done | STEP 1: How to make the DalFirstly, soak red masoor,mung dal and toor dal in water for 2 hours. |
2 Done | In a pressure cooker, put all three dals, tuirmeric, red chili pwdr, shahi jeera, whole spices, salt and oil. Cover the lid to take 2-3 whistles. |
3 Done | Take big pot add 2 tsp oil, shah jeera, crushed garlic and sort it for a minute, and transfer the cooker dal in it. Cook for 1 min and put the bottle gourd & cover it. |
4 Done | After every 2-3 mins check stir it as the dal shouldn't touch the base of the pot and become sticky. Cook it till the bottle gourd becomes soft. |
5 Done | STEP 2 : How to cook the meatIn a pressure cooker add oil, whole spice, sliced onion and saute till they turn translucent. |
6 Done | Add mutton, ginger-garlic paste, salt and cooked for 2 minutes. |
7 Done | Now add red chili powder, turmeric,cumin powder and saute it properly for 2 min. Now add 1 cup water and covered it. Take a whistle till the meat get tenderize. |
8 Done | Now open the lid and pour the meat mixture in the dal lauki of (STEP 1). |
9 Done | Lastly combined it and stir it well and cooked for 2-3 mins. |
10 Done | STEP 3: Ingredients of baghar(tarka)Take another sauce pan put ghee till it is properly heated on a low flame, than add cumin seeds, crush garlic, carom seed and heat for 2 min. |
11 Done | Finally, Pour the tarka in STEP 2 & garnish with coriander, mint leaves, brown onion (optional). Enjoy & stay healthy. If like it pour your comments & likes. |
