- 2 cups Black Chana
- 1 medium Onions chopped
- 1 tsp Red chili powder
- 1 tsp Coriander Powder
- 1/2 tsp Cumin ( jeera) powder
- 1 ( cut into very small pieces) Green chilly
- 1 tbsp Oil
- to taste Salt
- Coriander leaves for garnishing
- Mint leaves for garnishiing
- 1 ( cut into very small pies) Tomatoes
- or Dry mango ( Amchur) powder 1 tsp Lemon Juice
Black chana are very tasty to eat, are high on protein and fiber and very nutritious. You can have them any day for breakfast and good for dinner, co let us prepare Black chana .
Clean, wash and soak Black chana in water the entire night.
Take out the soaked Chana from the water, wash then put these Chana along with salt and 1/2 cup water in a cooker. Boil the Chana, after 1- 2 whistle goes off allow the Chana to cook for 3-4 minutes on a low flame.Turn off the gas.
Open the cooker after all the pressure is released, take the Chana out. The Chana water can be used while frying the spices. If there is more water than you can also drink it as soup as it is very nutritious.
pour oil in a frying pan ( kadhai) and heat, put onion in heat oil. After onion turns pink color then add tomato cook it till becomes soft.
Now add coriander powder, red chili powder, green chili, & cumin powder. Stir all these spices with a spoon and also add the water released from the Chana then mix well. Cook till water turns thick. Put the spices in the Chana and cook for 2 minutes while you stir regularly. Put lime juice , green coriander & min leaves to the Chana and mix.
Dry black chana is Ready.
