- 750gm (cut into cube) Boneless chicken
- 4tbsp Olive oil
- 4 tbsp Lemon Juice
- 1 1/2 tbsp Garlic chopped or paste
- 1 1/2 tbsp Tomato paste

- 3/4 tsp oregano
- 1 tsp All spice powder
- 1 tsp paprika powder
- 1 tsp (optional) sumac spice powder
- wooden sticks as required

Shish Tawook (or Sheesh tauk) is a traditional Middle Eastern marinated chicken dish. These grilled chicken skewers are incredibly popular in Lebanon, but they are also commonly found in Turkey, Egypt cuisine. To look at where this widely popular dish comes from, let’s first take a look at the name. Shish comes from the Turkish word meaning skewers. Tawook is an adaptation on tauk, which comes from the old Turkish takagu, meaning chicken. its an easy and delicious oriental recipe, enjoy grilling sheesh tauk and bring the smile to everyone around the table.
Take a bowl add boneless chicken, olive oil, lemon juice, garlic paste or chopped, tomato paste, black pepper powder, oregano, all spice powder, paprika powder, sumac powder(optional), cumin powder, yogurt, salt and mix very well. Cover the container and let marinate in the refrigerator for t 6 -8 hours, up to overnight.
Heat non-stick pan add 1 tsp oil and place the skewers ,cook on both sides till done.
You can grill them in oven for 15- 20 minutes at 200 degree Celsius.
Or even pan fry them using 1 tbsp oil till they are done and later infuse the coal smoke.
