- For Red Chilli Paste
- 6-7 whole red Kashmiri chillies, soaked
- 4-5 garlic cloves
- 1 tsp cumin seeds
- For Tava Pulav:-
- 2 tbsp butter
- 1 tbsp oil
- Cumin seeds 1 tsp
- 1 medium onions, sliced
- 1 tbsp ginger garlic paste
- ¼ cup red chilli paste (See the recipe above)
- 1 cup shredded cabbage
- ¼ cup green capsicum, sliced
- 1 medium tomato, sliced
- ½ cup potatoes, cut in cubes, boiled
- ¼ cup French beans, cut in cubes, blanched
- Salt to taste
- ¼ cup green peas, boiled
- 2 cups cooked rice
- ½ tbsp lime juice
- 2 tbsp butter
- 1 tbsp Pav bhaji masala
- Garnish:
- 1 tomato, sliced for garnish
- Fresh Coriander leaves for garnish

Tawa Pulao is hearty, filling meal that can satiate anytime, anywhere hunger while pleasing the appetite. It is a rice meal combined with an array of veggies in the dish – cabbage, potatoes, tomatoes, French beans – paired with a host of spices for that overwhelming aroma and taste.

Steps
1 Done | Add soaked red chillies, garlic cloves and cumin seeds to a blender, blend to a smooth paste and set aside till in use. |
2 Done | Heat butter and oil in a pan, add cumin seeds and allow to splutter. |
3 Done | Add the sliced onions and sauté till translucent. Then add ginger garlic paste and sauté till fragrant. |
4 Done | keeping the flame on medium, add the prepared red chilli paste, mix well and cook for a few minutes. |
5 Done | Add cabbage, mix well and cook for 3-4 minutes. |
6 Done | Add green capsicum, tomato, potatoes and French beans, mix well and cook for 5-6 minutes. |
7 Done | Add salt and mix well. Add the green peas, mix well and cook for 2-3 minutes. |
8 Done | Then add the cooked rice and toss well. (mix gently without breaking rice). Add lemon juice, butter and Pav bhaji masala, mix well and cook for 2-3 minutes. (if it looks dry add little water and mix it very gently and let it cook for few minutes, keep stirring.) |
9 Done | Garnish with sliced tomatoes, coriander leaves and lemon wedges. ( stir gently making sure rice and vegetables are coated with spices evenly. ) |
